And as the autumn colors begin to signal the coming cold of winter, I remembered what my mom would do– pick the wildflowers of her garden and press them to frame to enjoy through the winter. And so, a poem with a photo of my mom’s pressed and framed wildflowers, for which I am still thankful:

From Mom, and Thanks

I see the care
of gentle pressing
of dainty flowers just so

A gift so we
in winter’s dressing
these flowers— joy bestows
