Daily Note
Every day, a photograph, a poem. On our Sunday walk at Steamboat Rock State Park, I had to stop at the entrance on Highway 155 to take this photo of the serviceberry bushes growing in rows where the rain falls over the cliffs from the plateau above, their bright white star flowers in full bloom. Beautiful— a habitat and food for deer, rodents, and songbirds. And we live here.

And so, a poem…
Poetry
Star Flower
In spring rain falls
Sheri Edwards
into rivulets pulled
over the basalt cliffs towering
as monuments of past ages now providing
paths of sparkling streams drenching
the roots of star flowers blooming
in rows down the slopes soon sharing
the delicious serviceberry.
