How Many

Daily Note: Numbers for Elijah and Aethelthrythe

Every day, a photograph, a poem. I’ve so many children’s books in my home that I’ve had since grandchildren and their Cousin Camp stays. I’m starting to give them away. A cute one is Mouse Book: The Numbers (Mouse Books)by Monique Felix (Author, Illustrator). It counts from 1 – 10, adding a mouse each time. Take a look at Amazon’s “Look Inside” images and the cover:

I just wrapped up a box of my books, including this one, for two of my great-grandchildren, Elijah and Aethelthrythe [Ethel]. And I wrote a little poem on the inside cover for my poetry today. I think a day of counting smiles and hugs is good for all of us. I think a day of planning to spread a few smiles and hugs for those who need it is good for all of us too.

Poetry

To Elijah and Aethelthrythe

How many wings on a butterfly?
How many legs on an ant?
How many petals on a flower?
How many fingers to count with?
How many smiles in a day?
How many hugs can you give away?
