July Doodle People Practice 1
I’m in a community of artists with teacher Jennifer Nichols of Leila and Po Studio. She is an artist teacher with a desire to share and guide others in learning art with Procreate. I’ve been taking her classes and today my course was on drawing people, starting with a wire frame in the wanted pose, then “fleshing” it out, and finally adding clothing. This is my first practice try from her course. We’re working our way up to drawing vintage fairy and flower illustrations in the style of Cecily Mary Baker.
So, of course we start with learning how to draw people, step by step from body to head to face to hands to feet. It’s quite a complex course made simple by Jennifer. I need to practice a few of these before I continue with the “vintage fairy” section of the course. I think I did pretty good on this one.
And during the month of August Jennifer is teaching us character design— so I’ve got to get practicing.
The courses are part of her own artist community with a membership plan that will fit any novice or professional artists needs. It’s a supportive community where we help each other and enjoy Zoom calls together with artists around the world. Take a look:
