Daily Note

Every day, a photograph, a poem. We’re having a problem with the mule deer– they seem to prefer our town to the prairie around our town. They are eating our landscaped gardens. Now, we love the deer, but it’s getting to be a problem. There are so many mule deer, turkey, and quail, that the tourists drive around to take pictures. The problem, according to our Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, is that the only thing to stop them is a tall fence, which would look ridiculous as well as violate city code.

Wildlife on Our Lawns

Tourists arrive here
they drive here
through town
snapping photos
through car windows
at the wildlife on our lawns.
