Daily Note
Every day, a photograph, a poem. November continues — a poem a day plus writing 1667 words every day for NaNoWriMo. [for more information see my post: I Write]. I searched my photos for “evening,” looking for just the right lighting to fit my story today. And wouldn’t you know it, one from October, 2022 popped up with a dragon in the sky and fairies on the grains of grass seeds in the foreground, a marvelous scene for the worlds of the wide and the wee folk.
I remember this day, and trying to capture the looking through the grasses at the distance, with the light playing tricks on us, as if dragons and fairies were real…aren’t they?
Perhaps a poem might convince you…
Poetry
Afternoon Skies
Late afternoon fire in the sky
Sheri Edwards
Dragon’s breath glows high and wide
Signal to the fairies’ sparkle
in the grasses of the meadow
lighting seeds before the dance
of twilight’s time and sleep’s first trance
when humans to their rest return
and wee folks sing away concerns.
