Daily Note
Every day, a photograph, a poem.
Scott returned from the Chamber of Commerce auction last night with this lovely black tea pot filled with deep red roses for me. It looks lovely on our kitchen table, which is the one from my family home. The view is from my chair here in our home today and the same spot of the table I sat in as a child.
The black tea pot matches the shelving just out of site and the side table, and the red roses brighten the holiday spirit. I noticed this morning how the lovely velvet petals are opening slowly to give us their full beauty. And as I looked out the window, the puffs of large snow flakes fell slowly to the ground: winter is here, coming in slowly to ease our adjustment, releasing it’s white purify snow that tells us to rest and reflect.
Today is a beautiful snowy day. And now, it’s time for a Guthrie walk….
and a winter poem…

Winter Like a Rose
What is this winter?
Sheri Edwards
Roses in a black tea pot
deep red velvet petals
slowly opening
loosening their hidden beauty
Like winter easing in
clouds dropping puffs of snow
slowly falling
loosening their purifying cold
That is winter.
