Sleeping Mouse

This morning I took a Live Drawing Lesson from Jennifer Nichols of Leila and Po Studio in her Creative Journey Community of which I am a member and affiliate. I mostly used her brushes from her mushroom class as she did.

Take a look at other posts from Jennifer’s lessons here: #ipadartwithjennifernichols. If you decide to join, if you click “join here” I’ll receive a bit as an affiliate.

My Adaptation

I followed along to learn to draw the mouse. I put the mouse under his chin and paw. I created rounded leaves and took time to shade the leaves and berries. I also filled in the inner section using the color-mode with the native terraleah brush.

To make a transparent motif, I again need to turn off the background layer, copy all, paste. I select and invert this copied layer to clear the outer boundary from each of the linen texture layers. I also duplicated the copied motif, turned on alpha lock, and filled the motif with white, a couple times. I duplicated the white motif several times and merged them so at the lowest layer I had a solid white motif to make the colored areas opaque. I listed the steps in this post: Cat and Orange

So, in my layers, I have sections for a full greeting card and sections for just the motif [with the texture layers now only covering the motif and the white motif layer to make it opaque].

Thank you

I have many Artist Gems for whom I am grateful for their generous teachings. Today I celebrate Jennifer Nichols of Leila and Po Studio and her Creative Journey Community of which I am a member and affiliate. Take a few of her lessons from her YouTube channel to try out her style and process; share what you’ve learned and adapted. If you decide to join her community, please click “join here” I’ll receive a bit as an affiliate.

And you’re welcome to follow this blog for more art inspiration. We can share with #warmup4art to enjoy our work together! I look forward to your sharing and find me at @42Sheri, on Mastodon Sheri42, on Flickr teach.eagle Sheri 42.
