Daily Note
Every day, a photograph, a poem. This popped up in my search for a photo for today’s poem. I snapped this view on November 12, 2023 at 4:42 PM. The deer amble in small herds through town, munching on our landscaped yards. Sigh. Here they hope some crab apples will fall from the tree– or that my husband will knock a few down for them. Sometimes the turkeys fly up to eat the crab apples and knock some down while they munch.
The hotel on the other side of the Chevron has a well-lit electronic sign that includes the message: Watch out for our wildlife: turkeys and deer!
There’s not much to do about the munching deer, except to NOT deliberately feed them. After all, we share this earth with them.
