Grey Skies to Earth’s Light

Daily Note

Every day, a photograph, a poem. Today we have some sunshine, the first in weeks. But yesterday I found some sunshine too, looking at the earth. I snapped a picture because it seemed that the earth had given me a bit of sunshine in the bright moss and little leaves. Though the sky has been grey, I could look down to the bright green of the mosses growing due to the grey day and rain. It was something to look forward too though the sky was dull with heavy clouds keeping out the sun.

And so, a poem…

Poetry

Grey Skies to Earth’s Light

If sun’s light doesn’t shine
and the grey skies loom low;
look down at the earth,
peer just off the road—

where clumps of little rows
of yellow star-suns grew
among green stems popping up
dabbled in gems of dew,

see blue-green circles
of little leaves so new
all a bit of magic bright
earth’s tiny lights for you.
