Inspiration

CatCoq challenged us in her newsletter to illustrate the little creature of Mexico, the axolotl, which can regenerate parts of itself. It is extremely endangered because it only lives in  Lake Xochimilco, which is loosing its water to urbanization and pollution. I hope it survives.

I didn’t get it started and my friend Nancy said, “Do it now!” So, here it is!

Process

I chose a funky style taught by CatCoq in her class, Draw Animals in Procreate with tips for art licensing sales. Hers includes the erased lines and I added the patterned elements [Lisa Bardot’s Imperfect Patterns set].

Isn’t that fun?
