Daily Note
Every day, a photograph, a poem.
Yesterday, a young couple parked their electric bicycles and took portraits of themselves by our blossoming cherry and crab apple trees.
They really are something to behold– up and down our street along the boulevard are blossoming crab apple trees that bring the delight of a deep pink to welcoming eyes. Along the front of our house, in front of many houses on both sides of the street are flowering cherry trees with their delicate blossoms of barely pink.
This crab apple tree in the picture foreground is one I see every day outside our kitchen window. We watch the seasons go by over breakfast; it’s lovely.
The crab apple trees are very old, maybe as old as the house, which was built in 1934. I am honored they live in my neighborhood, to bring us beauty, shade, shelter for birds, and food for many of the creatures that wander through the streets of our little town.
And these bright crab apple blossoms and cherry blossoms are the final acknowledgement of spring after a very grey and wet winter.

Longing No More
so lovely
Sheri Edwards
so shady
crab apple blossoms
up and down the boulevard
a sight for winter’s eyes
longing for the spring
