Dancing with the Wind

I think it is crested wheatgrass, Agropyron cristatum, but I could be wrong.

I think it is crested wheatgrass, Agropyron cristatum, but I could be wrong.

A Little Note

The Photo:

I think it is crested wheatgrass, Agropyron cristatum, but I could be wrong.

The Thought:

Crested wheatgrass can be found east of the Cascade Mountains across the United States. Eurasia is its origin, and it was introduced here for soil stabilization and livestock forage. Seeds are disbursed by wind.

I like how it looks like the spikelets are braided; it’s short and waves with the wind. We found it near Banks Lake on our walk.

Poetry

Dancing with the Wind

Braids of grass flowers
dancing with the melodies
whispered by the wind.
