Inspiration
Today’s art is from a class by Jennifer Nichols in her Creative Journey Community. You can see an intro video of her membership on IG, and, there’s a special going on this month. I am an affiliate to Jennifer Nichols Creative Journey Membership only. The link I share for the membership is the only link that earns me a bit.
She’s having a sale this month, so you might want to join the fun and learning.
Jennifer’s Creative Journey Community is a very supportive, highly friendly, and conversational place for artists to learn and grow together; Jennifer provides monthly live draws and question and answer sessions as well as new classes. She’s an active participant in the community, encouraging and sharing with her members. It’s a community where everyone is a friend.
Watercolor and Ink Doodles walks you through creating a relaxing illustration with watercolors and ink, creating a base color with a doodle on each. Jennifer then explains how to move the doodle designs as motifs to create a repeating pattern.
My Projects
Yesterday, I posted my gallery of floral doodles and suggested that “bug” doodles might work well with the florals. And so I created another set of doodles, but with doodled bugs.
I was able to apply the same watercolor circles and just add the doodles of bugs, which were very fun and relaxing to draw. I’ve also been using the “dot” brush I made following another class from Jennifer. I adjusted it to add a secondary color. You can see the background dots yesterday and in my gallery today:
