Inspiration
I received my monthly email from Bekki Flaherty yesterday that included a link to a magic geometric stripes pattern tutorial. I’m planning a holiday mini-collection and this might fit with the “Evergreen Florals” florals I created yesterday in a holiday/winter palette. You can see the palette in the tear sheet above– the tear sheet is another “freebie” from Bekki.
Find Rebecca Flaherty on Cara and YouTube to keep up with her challenges, like the #52weeksofflorals, which I’ve been following but have not started. A few friends of mine are participating with that. Sign up for her newsletter and freebies at her Pattern Makers Toolkit site. You’ll love her templates, canvases, and tutorials. Find her on Etsy for the templates and canvases, to which you can get 10% off by signing up for the Pattern Makers Toolkit. Take a look! You’ll love her art and tutorials.
My Crazy Stripes

The one on the left I made following Bekki’s tutorial Trippy Geometric Stripes and then I repeated the process for the one on the right. I used the same palette as I did yesterday for my florals, but the “screen” blend mode lightens them up. I’ll play around some more with this technique to get a “stripe” that works for the florals. The green and teal seem to still match, so perhaps I’ll try the teal, green, and navy and see how they work.
