Cozy Bird in Gold

As I said yesterday, I am illustrating a few cozy holiday birds for my hero art for the July CatCog challenge. I’ve spent the day watching Liz Kohler Brown tutorials in Affinity Designer to refresh my memory of the software. I really like the idea of scalable vector illustrations, but they are a bit flat. Luckily, I know how to add gradients and a bit of texture. I’m using the same palette, and adding a bit from the procreate cozies I made last year in Procreate. I only finished one today, the little gold bird [above] in her cozy teal sweater and ear muffs.
