Inspiration
One thing I especially like about Lisa Bardot’s brushes is that they come with guides that include tutorials and info about how the brushes work– beautifully illustrated with step by step directions. So I last week I had opened the guide for the Watercolor Wonder brushes and chose two tutorial chapters, one of them being the apple, which I wrote about here: July Friendship.
My Apples
I didn’t like the way this one turned out, but I loved the brushes.

I thought I could have added another slice of apple, so today I created another version, and I like it much better.

All the brushes used were from the Watercolor Wonder brushes. If you’d like to see the brushes in action, check out Lisa’s YouTube tutorial for watercolor oranges.
I wrote about my illustration using the rainbow outline process here: Watercolor Cat and Orange.
