Inspiration
I’m continuing a project from Peggy Dean’s Summer Creative Retreat. I purchased the “Permanent Vacation Pass.” I enjoyed One Color Magic: Loose Watercolor Florals with Nikki Hess of Lavender And Sea, a lesson in monochrome with watercolor, which I wrote about here: SCR Monochrome Florals
My Project
Today I added to the project in hues of magenta and lime to create a collection. I may add more as I learn to use Lisa Bardot’s Watercolor Wonders brush set for Procreate. I like the first one bet, and I think I’ll look at more floral designs to figure out the florals I’d like to learn.
I have Peggy Dean’s Botanical Line Drawings on my iPad in Books. That’s been a big help in the past. You might want to “look inside” to see how you like it.
I’m using hues of a color to create the “watered down” set of hues in the illustrations. I may also try color.adobe.com for my next palette for another set of florals.
I chose magenta and lime through the “harmony” menu in Procreate. I chose a blue from the blue florals and selected the “triadic” color mode to chose a base color in each, magenta and lime since those were the coordinating colors presented in the triadic mode. Then I just adjusted the “whiteness” to get lighter and darker hues of each, creating the palette.
