Inspiration
I’m continuing a project from Peggy Dean’s Summer Creative Retreat from the One Color Magic: Loose Watercolor Florals with Nikki Hess of Lavender And Sea, a lesson in monochrome with watercolor, which I wrote about here: SCR Monochrome Florals. I’d continued with the watercolor monochromes:
- Monochrome Peach and Purple
- Monochrome Collection
And now I’m switching to creating monochrome florals with the new gouache brushes from Jennifer Nichols of Leila and Po Studio [affiliate link] and her amazing classes in her Creative Journey artist community, especially her recent “Live Lesson” “Flowy Fall Color-Changing Gouache Pattern” on YouTube.
Gouache Monochrome

All six designs are now up in their very own Monochrome Designs collection on Spoonflower as tea towels.
Besides this special collection, I have a collection just for wildflowers with nineteen designs:

You may also be interested in these two collections:
- Floral Delights Collection with 50 floral designs
- Tea Towels Collection — 42 tea towels for many occasions
I especially like these two tea towels

I’ve been pleasantly surprised at my top ten on Spoonflower– most of which are in the Tea Towels Collection !

Take a look!
I hope you take a look at the collections and become inspired to try your own. Here’s an IG of Jennifer Nichols showing some of her tea towel designs:

In Jennifer’s Creative Journey Community, she has a lesson on designing tea towels at Spoonflower.
Sign up for Jen’s newsletter or for membership in her community. Signing up for the newsletter brings you a number of freebies, including the color-changing experiment gouache brush I used for the yellow monochrome floral today. And in her community the entire new color changing gouache brush set is free with the gouache class.
