Cozy Evergreen Winter Holiday Collection

As I indicated yesterday, today I uploaded all the color coordinated designs that could accompany the main patterns. The Cozy Evergreen Winter Holiday Collection now has 23 patterns, including tea towels, ginghams, stripes, and florals.

New Editor in Spoonflower

I’m getting used to the new editor in Spoonflower. My process is to upload related files and then choose the option for “Edit in Design Library.” I can then choose the list view, select the related files, and do bulk editing of tags, collections, and descriptions. That’s very helpful. Next I choose each one to verify the title and add the additional details — copying/ pasting from my Notes file. After checking the scale for appropriate size, I then proof the design. If all looks well, I can choose “For Sale,” and the process is finished.

Yesterday I spent quite a bit of time redoing the polka dots and stripes because the “proofing” showed a very small mismatch, which I didn’t like. So I was able to see the need and fix the issue, though it was very minor and tiny. It probably wouldn’t have even shown up, but I like to be as exact as possible.

I’m thinking I might do something with the gingham — add a bit of the cozy birds and minor motifs for possible additional blenders.

A Zine for my Great Granddaughter

I also created a story zine for my great granddaughter who loves playing in the garden.

I copy / pasted various motifs I’ve created and placed them into the procreate template I made.

Here’s how to make and fold a zine: PDF from Sedgwick Museum, UK.

Here’s an image of the template.

Here’s the Procreate template so you can make your own.

Here’s how fun they are to share and read– a poem I created for my CLmooc and WriteOut friends:

You can read more and see how I made the zine in my educational blog post here: Sparkles in Time / WriteOut Zine. You’ll be hearing more about  #writeout from the National Writing Project / National Park Service two week celebration of parks and the outdoors each October. Click the links for many ways and several places and different prompts to explore and write about the outdoors.

A busy day— time to walk the dog.
