
Yesterday I started my second time for the Delores Naskrent Card Challenge. This time instead of Procreate, the focus is on Affinity Designer, which if you’ve followed this blog is a platform I’m learning to use. Last night I drew these sketches as my homework. Today I choose one and create it in Affinity, with the help of some assets that Delores provides.
I choose the Joy To You bird on a branch to start with because I knew I had already created a bird asset for my Christmas Holiday Birds wrapping paper pattern. She explained that once one card is created, a change of color or text or details can result in several cards of the same motif, like these:



The top right sketch became these, which I’ve shared before. You can see the yellow flower above is based on the assets I created previously for these, which are all based on my project for the Globe Mallow.


She also suggested using assets we already had — so the Globe Mallow, and also this holiday pattern:

So in the first two days I’ve created 4 original cards and 2 previously made cards.
