DAILY CREATE WRITEOUT

I took a prompt today from the Daily Create: #tdc4670 #ds106 #WriteOut The Peace Of Wild Things –remix of Wendell Barry’s poem through Blackout Poetry with the Glitch app. Mine, below:

blackout poetry:
Wild despair
wake in the night
lie down
where the wood rests
come into peace
come into light
in grace
and free

Next I found a photo that represented the dark wood coming into the light, a restful scene near sundown. This is a place we often stop at to rest and meditate while walking the dog during the four hour trek from eastern to western Washington. It’s a stunning place with Nason Creek just off to the right and down the hill. It’s a place for the weary to find the light again, just as in the poem.

Organized as a public invitation to get out and create, supported by a series of free online activities, Write Out invites educators, students, and families to explore national parks and other public spaces. The goal is to connect and learn through place-based writing and sharing.  Check out this infographic for the flow of the this week and the Choice Board to get you started for WriteOut’s Poetry for the Planet.
