Midcentury Style

I love the midcentury style. Only three colors are used here, one emulating the “white” of paper which is left blank in the old style printing. To get the effect of another color, a half-tone effect is applied, like in the snowman’s hat.

This is a lesson from Jutta Schneider. You can find her on YouTube, Skillshare, and IG. I also made two brushes following her lessons, one in the snowman lesson and another from a link in the info about the lesson: a stipple and a texture. The stipple is the white marks on the red background, and the texture is the shading on the snowman.

My Take

The snowman on the left is my take on Jutta’s lesson. Then I re-sketched for what happened next, which is the little tree saving the day in the illustration on the right.
