Welcome!
On most Wednesdays, check this blog for a strategy, process, or reflection for illustration with the iPad app ProCreate or Affinity Designer. This Wednesday Wrap Up reviews a few completed projects, all on Spoonflower in collections plus the beginning of a new project about tea.
New Project

Jennifer Nichols of Leila and Po– with Creative Journey Community teaches a set of two classes for “Tea Time.” This is my sketch from the first class; next class will be adding the color in which every medium I choose, probably gouache. We’re creating the individual motifs, which for this starter project will be placed on shelving, as in the sketch above. However, with the motif sketches ready, they can be used for patterns, picture frames, posters, etc.
If you’re interested, I am an affiliate to Jennifer Nichols Creative Journey Membership only. The link I share for the membership is the only link that earns me a bit. Here’s an introductory video of her membership, to give you an idea of the wonderful community of art novices and professionals that she’s created:
This will be a fun project because I’ve many family members who love coffee and tea and house plants — so creating cards, home decor, prints in the various motifs will be fun to share with them.
Favorite Project: Coulee Country Series: Curlycup Gumweed

I’ve finished the third in the series of wildflowers of our area, Coulee Country Series with the Curlycup Gumweed florals. This little flower, only an inch wide, blooms from June to September and brings sunlight to our daily walks even on cloudy days. See the Curlycup Gumweed collection on Spoonflower. Click the images above to see those products. I’m excited to continue this series and hopefully see the fabric used by quilters in our area.
More Mocha Mousse

Remember back on January 15, I wrote about the three Spoonflower challenges I entered with the Pantone Mocha Mousse Color of the year? Another Spoonflower challenge is the Minimalist Cheater Quilts. It’s a call for classic patterns in two colors, but sometimes those are copyrighted. I decided to continue my Neutral Natural Mocha Collection with the motif and colors of the first design– the half circles, dots, and petals in mocha mousse and cannoli cream.
The design reminds me of petals or beans– both elements of the cacao plant for coffee and chocolate!

I also tried other color combinations just for some variety, but have not added them to the collection. Contact me if these interest you.

Thanks for stopping by!
So I’ve been busy now that I’m feeling better. Remember to give yourself time to rest if you’re under the weather — soon you’ll be able to hop back into your creativity.
And, if you’ve been hesitant to share your art– go for it! Start a shop. Enter the Spoonflower Design Challenges. The more you design, the better your art develops, along with your confidence. We were all beginners once! If you have any questions, just ask! I’d be glad to help with what I know. Find time to make art every day!
You’re welcome to follow this blog for art inspiration. We can share with #warmup4art to enjoy our work together! I look forward to your sharing and find me at @42Sheri, on Mastodon Sheri42, on Flickr teach.eagle Sheri 42.
