I wonder … this little guy was so fun to create. I need a few more poses, so I wonder if I should join the 100 day project and for 20 days, draw rabbits?
Let’s see… animals to learn in 20 days each of drawing:
I think I can.
Day 1/20 Bunnies

I completed Day 1 of 20 Bunnies, as in my plan.I planned for a rabbit looking straight on to the viewer– “Here’s look at you.” I found a reference photo on Pinterest and opened it in a second window on my iPad to eye the shape and extend the image to the bunny’s full length.
Set Up
My Procreate canvas is 10×10 in 300 DPI with Page Assist. Here you can see how I set up my layers. This first bunny is in a group by itself, including the overall texture layer at the top of the group. The bottom layer is the background layer. I have enough layers for 20 bunnies, I hope.

Palette

For colors, I duplicated the Spoonflower Mocha Mousse palette and started adding colors.
Brushes

I decided to use Jennifer Nichols Potpourri Brush Set to learn the brushes and practice with them. As members of her Creative Learning Community [affiliate link], the brushes are free. Lots of camaraderie as well as so many tutorials and brush sets; joining the community is winner.
I created a new brush set for 100 Days, duplicated each of Jenn’s brushes that I used, and moved the duplicates into my brush set. Now I’ll know which brushes I used for the project. I’m not sure if I’ll have a brush set for each of the sets of 20; we’ll have to see.
The 100 Day Project
The 100 Day Project has a history: I don’t know it, but I’ve seen social media posts about it for years. I think there’s more than one. This one is from Lindsay Jean Thomson with a website, IG, and podcast. The hashtag is #the100dayproject.
The goal is to make a plan for drawing every day for 100 days– five to ten minutes. That seems doable, doesn’t it? What if you miss a day — listen here. My advice: enjoy it; don’t worry if you miss, just keep going as you can.
