
Mothers Day
I saw this as a sign in a store and online in many places. It’s just so true. So I made it for the many mothers in our family. The face I made following the style and process used by Calvin of Drifter Studio. Two of his videos I rewatched for this are:
However I followed the technique with a sketch I made of my great-grandson from a photo:

I didn’t add the teeth, but applied the style where the mouth is simply darkened. It was the effect I wanted– not realistic, but still looking real. I added bits of chocolate [or ???] on his face.
The lettering is typography with fonts. Jennifer Nichols, in her Creative Journey Community [affiliate link], has an in depth class on typography. I reviewed that to remember how to create the different effects with fonts. Everyone loved the card. We all laughed for its truth!
Birthday Card

A few days back I shared how I created a post about how I created this watercolor effect for this lovely blue floral design for a new friend in an art community. Again, I followed the method used by Calvin in his Watercolor Flower video. It was too lovely not to be a card– so here it is:
