Welcome!
On most Wednesdays, check this blog for a strategy, process, or reflection for illustration with the iPad app ProCreate or Affinity Designer. This week I’m finishing up a “drawing cats” for #the100dayproject, opened my kitchen towels from Zazzle, designed another democracy poster, and found improved results in the Spoonflower Design Challenges. Let’s start with the design challenges.
Spoonflower Design Challenges

I was delighted twice to find I had broken the 1000th place mark with placement in the 800s instead! Hooray.
Read about the Art Deco and Pet Doodles results here.
Zazzle Kitchen Towels

I share my designs and the actual photos of three bright and cheerful kitchen towels from Zazzle. The fabric is a waffle weave and very absorbent. I love them. Read about them here.
More Zazzle and some Art Action

I created a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion poster and ordered it on an apron. I love the sturdy and pocketed apron, but I’m revising the design so the words pop more. Read about that here.
Another Art Action

For our Save Our Democracy group, I created another poster this week– one about more democratic values. I’m enjoying reading the essays by anthropologist James Greenberg; he’s able to thoroughly cut through and analyze the harm being done to our country. Read his essays on Substack. Read the post about the poster and the specific essay that inspired it here.
And the Cats…

And I finished another seven days of drawing cats. Only five more days to go of my #the100dayproject! Read about this week’s cats here.
Thanks for stopping by!
It’s been a busy week for writing, drawing, and patterns! I hope the Spoonflower Challenges capture your attention and I see your work there!
I’ve enjoyed the daily drawings of birds, bunnies, bears, dogs, and cats.. It’s so fun to capture my own cat’s personality. It’s also rewarding because many of my daily drawings have inspired several pattern designs for challenges. If you have any questions about my process, just ask! I’d be glad to help with what I know. Find time to make art every day!
You can find many helpful artists teachers on my Artist Resources page. Take a look at their IG and YouTube. Find one that fits your learning and art preferences and stick with them a while to develop your skills. Every day, another aha!
You’re welcome to follow this blog for art inspiration. We can share with #warmup4art to enjoy our work together! I look forward to your sharing and find me at @42Sheri, on Mastodon Sheri42, on Flickr teach.eagle Sheri 42.
