Welcome!
On most Wednesdays, check this blog for a strategy, process, or reflection for illustration with the iPad app ProCreate or Affinity Designer. I missed last week, and this post shares links to design challenges, abstracts, and patterns. A very busy two weeks.
Spoonflower Design Challenges
I improved in the success of my entries into the Spoonflower Design Challenges.
Take a look: Retro and Toile. Voting for the Retro Halloween ends next Tuesday. I’m also working on the Cottagecore challenge this week.

Improving Patterns
I took a class this weekend by Jasmine Hnatkova. I’m thinking of designing a calendar of florals, so her class, Procreate Patterns: A Step by Step Guide to Creating Stunning Repeats, seemed like a perfect fit.
See several colorways in the post: Arrowleaf Balsamroot Colorways — this is a local wildflower.

With the another template from Jasmine, I am currently working on another wildflower in our area, Salsify. I’ll write more about it this week.

DAS25
Drew Steinbrecher offered his Digital Artists Summit 2025, and I joined in the fun, although I’ve only completed two sessions so far. They are quite fun and detailed, so it takes me a while to complete my versions. Each of the artists share a bit about their process in creating abstract art, which to me is very difficult. Think of all the mood and meaning that must be presented visually. It’s quite a thoughtful art form.

Sticker Review
Earlier in June I talked about making and selling stickers [Stickers and More]. I mentioned three places for information, tips, and tutorials:
I’m still working on these and will probably repurpose previous artwork that will fit what seems to be developing as my first themes: flowers and fruits. See the illustration at the top of this post. For more on the work with stickers, see Stickers Starts and More.
Thanks for stopping by!
It’s been a busy two weeks of stickers, patterns, and more! If you have any suggestions or questions, please share and ask. And, I hope the Spoonflower Challenges capture your attention and you give them a try.
I’m looking forward to finishing many stickers and the upcoming design challenges. There’s so little time!
You can find many helpful artists teachers on my Artist Resources page. Take a look at their IG and YouTube. Find one that fits your learning and art preferences and stick with them a while to develop your skills. Every day, another aha!
You’re welcome to follow this blog for art inspiration. We can share with #warmup4art to enjoy our work together! I look forward to your sharing and find me at @42Sheri, on Mastodon Sheri42, on Flickr teach.eagle Sheri 42.
