Stickers
Earlier in June I talked about making and selling stickers [Stickers and More]. I mentioned three places for information, tips, and tutorials:
As you can see, I’m working on them as hero and pattern collections. When I finish the hero and pattern, I then create the sticker of the hero motif. I was able to repurpose previous art of fruit to create these, adding a bit — like the blueberry box or sliced fruit– to add to the pattern design.
For most of the patterns I choose gingham background as that is trending now. These will be on Spoonflower and as greeting cards on Zazzle or Printful. The stickers will be from Printful on Etsy, so I think the greeting cards will be as well.
See the gallery above for the mockup of this week’s progress. For previous work with stickers, see Stickers Starts and More.
Here’s an example of sticker mockup:

I still need to add the center white to all the stickers and create a write-up for Etsy. I’m thinking I’ll call them Summer Fruits, Lunchpail Delights Stickers. Most are watercolor designs and all are created in Procreate.
Tip: I duplicate the watercolor motif, pull the duplicate below the watercolor motif and fill it with white. I duplicate it a few times and merge those together. This allows the motif to retain the watercolor look but be opaque.
Motif/Pattern mockups are adapted from a Lisa Bardot tutorial in her ArtMakersClub community, which is having a Founder Sale on July.
The sticker mockup is suggested by a Liz Kohler Brown The Studio Community tutorial in her “Selling Stickers” Course.
My next plan is to create Pacific Northwest Floral Stickers. I have many already illustrated for patterns. These will also, I think, be part of my calendar project.
So, take a look in your grocery store and a path through nature to find some inspiration for calendars and stickers as well as print-on-demand patterns. Just start illustrating a few a week and soon you’ll have a start to a plan for a project like this one.
