Watercolor People
Calvin of Drifter Studio provides excellent watercolor classes for Procreate. I took this one called “How to paint colorful, happy people in procreate” on YouTube. I also practiced his technique for creating watercolor blooms in Procreate– this short from YouTube.
You can’t really see my blooms because they are in one of the flower sets in the pattern on the woman’s jacket. But it worked.
And what a quick way to create a pattern on an illustration with the method Calvin teaches in his lesson about people.
His example was a skateboarder, but I changed mine to a protector, which shows how easy Calvin makes it to learn and practice with his videos– you can use your own ideas and sketches as you follow his process.
I used Calvin’s brushes and watercolor paper, which I had already purchased. Take a look at his tutorials if you like watercolor. You’ll learn how to digitally paint in watercolor from his great tutorials.
