Process:

I started with the dish– creating a base color in the middle of the palette for the entire dish, then adding in the shading and highlighting with Goo brush. I blended / smudged with tattered ink. I repeated on another layer with the butter colors. Finally, I added the lightest highlights with the soot line brush.

I created the background with two of Jennifer Nichol’s brushes from her Creative Journey community. [affiliate link]. At the top, I used the cotton ball brush to create a highlight with light cream color and shadow in dark purple color, adding a Gaussian blur.

The colors I chose were from Ana’s swatches, I just added lighter and darker colors as needed, moving towards the warmer colors before selecting a new color. Of course, I moved the color wheel closer to orange for the dark yellow.
