5 Cards in 5 Days
I’m taking, again, Delores Naskrent’s 5 Cards in 5 Days. It’s a fast paced, content filled course that starts with sketches and ends with learning to upload to a greeting card site for sale. This will be my third time– this one includes both Procreate and Affinity Designer sections.
Day 3
Today our assignment was to take one template and create three different colors, playing with color, to see how unique each card will look and how easy it is to change to a new design.
Card 1, on the left, above.
I started with a template that looked similar to the one on the left, above. I changed out the motifs in that template to add my own peachy flowers, background, and text.
Card 2, in the middle
I duplicated cad one, changed out some of the leaves and changed colors of other leaves. I also changed the dots in the background and the color of the background. I added some outline leaves.
Card 3, on the right
I decided to lighten up the card so the focus color is gold and the flowers and leaves are teals, except for the gold flowers. I changed the background and rearranged one of the leaves.
How fun was that?
Day 2
Remember that yesterday, I noted that I would change up that card by changing motifs. Here’s the result– changing the flowers to pink roses and the leafy ferns to Virginia Creeper. And a new card is ready!

Remember, I am only changing the motifs I started with in the margin of my card.

By changing those single motifs, all the others on the card change automagically. Any questions? I’d love to help!
