Wednesday WrapUp NaNoWriMo and Simple Joys

Welcome

On most Wednesdays, check this blog for a strategy, process, or reflection for illustration with the iPad app ProCreate or Affinity Designer. This week I’ve two projects: NaNoWriMo and prompts done in various styles for “Simple Joys” #makingarteveryday prompts.

NaNoWriMo

This is National Novel Writing Month, and I’m writing in a community called Novel November in the ProWriting platform. The art is writing. I write 2000 words a day for 30 days in November — a story, a novel. Mine are always science and fantasy. Here’s a song in this year’s novel [I’ve been doing this since 2011], Find Her. The main character, Ellie, is on a quest to find her sister, which is taking her on a journey through a tall pine forest alone. She’s already learned something that will jolt her mother’s life. To stay strong, she sings this song.

“I am one with the forest,
a part of the rhythm
of the creatures living their lives,
doing what each does. Remember this.

I am with stardust, fallen to earth
I am to harvest, from seeds given birth
I am to flowers, whose seeds are the worth
I am the nurture, the good not for worse.

I am the memory, for here from away
I am the vision, forward, far away
I am the song that starts every day
I am the dance showing the way.

I am the stars lighting the way
I am the quest solving the fray
I am the daughter now unafraid
I seek answers for Mother’s disarray.”
