Hard to understand the horrors when such beauty abounds

quiet lullaby by the lake and cattails; with poem Quiet Lullaby A breeze flows across the lake beneath a blue sky peppered in growing clouds; the dog pauses to capture the scent flowing through the dry, rustling cattails; the blackbirds and wrens hide silently away as the sun’s warmth soothes me into a nap in nature’s quiet lullaby. end of the road on Banks Lake, WA and poem: Thankful Pause I am thankful for the time for the freedom for the gift to enjoy the natural beauty just a few miles from home, a place the dog can roam, and I can walk beside the butterflies, barn swallows, and marsh wrens flying above and through the bulrushes now growing anew among the old along the lake in their own time among our chaos giving us our time our place to pause in thanks for earth’s beauty; a landscape to emulate in literal and metaphoric ways in our daily lives wherever we may be and whatever we do.
