Daily Note
Every day, a photograph, a poem. On our walk today– in November– we found the sidewalk littered with all the leaves of the trees bordering the sidewalk. All the leaves fell all at once, still green, because October was eighty degrees and now November we have the freeze. I hope the trees are not damaged.
Climate change will bring more surprises we will not like.
When Autumn Forgot
In the year 2022
Sheri Edwards
climate rang a different tune
an October of eighty degrees
autumn forgot to paint the leaves
green they stayed and green they fell
all at once and this foretells
the stranger things ahead, unsought,
stranger than when autumn forgot.
