Daily Note
Every day, a photograph, a poem. Today a prompt for poetry was “hub,” so I wrote this additional poem about children being the hub or our lives — around which we try to make their lives better and for which they will create the future for themselves and others.
I love the photo of our neighbor’s bikes left just off the sidewalk and on the lawn– just in the yard, not put away, but ready for an adventure that might call.
And I know the neighbors, as parents, do all they can to make their children’s lives better, and to hope for the future they will make.
Hub
In the world we go
Sheri Edwards
Seeing forward so
All we struggle for
all the days of yore
so a better world today
and worries we allay
help generation next
solve whatever test
the world throws their way
our path for them we lay
For all our precious cubs
The kids, the future’s hub.
