Daily Note

Every day, a photograph, a poem. I’ve written about it before on my other blog: Conconully Posts, and there is Conconully State Park to visit. Today I was reminded of it for the Daily Create: Draw a colorful landscape.

The photo is from the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest, on the east edge northwest of Omak, northeast of Winthrup, and north of Conconully. When there, you won’t want to leave.

I think of this place often– when I want to calm my mind and find a bit of serenity. While there, I felt a part of so much bigger– that of our earth and our nature here– a seemingly wonderful place in the universe on this beautiful blue planet.

Nature’s Drawing

Horizon triangled in pine
Reaching for the blue-painted sky
between puffs of white
and below spreads
the verdant meadow
dotted in pink and white and yellow:
Nature’s colorful landscape-
a masterpiece.
