Every day, a photograph, a poem. In autumn this year, we turned to one of our usual paths over Fiddle Creek — the stone path and wooden bridge. At the top of path on our way home, we were surprised by and did surprise these lovely mule deer, a doe and a buck.

A Moment

Up the stone stairs
Under the canopy
Up to the top
Out in the open
A moment
of surprise
For eight eyes
Theirs and ours
