Winter Colors Drama

The coulee walls and trees on Banks Lake, which is iced over with flock of geese on the ice edge and a bald eagle 20 feet away.

Daily Note

Every day, a photograph, a poem. Another lovely walk along the iced over Banks Lake, where geese sit on the edge of the ice, and an eagle eyes them for dinner. Such is the drama of nature in winter.

We always feel fortunate to live where we can observe and wonder about the earth’s creatures. Here’s a video I took just moments later. Notice how the geese are facing the eagle… Now do eagles eat geese? Take a read at Audubon.

Winter Colors Drama

Winter browns and reds
blur the world
while sun light and shadows
highlights each piece;

Icy blue, flat
upon the lake
a stage set for nature’s drama:
an eagle eyes the geese.
