In Thanks … for trees

Daily Note

Every day, a photograph, a poem. This is one of our favorite stops on I-90 by Ellensburg: Olmstead Place Homestead State Park. I love this tree and it’s filtered light– the dark bark and light green leaves against the bright blue sky are mesmerizing as the the eye follow from the trunk up it’s fractal branches to the sky. It’s a fun place to see live in the late 1880s.

And so a poem:

In Thanks

Filtered light through fractal branches
Where sun and shade dance with the breeze
In their stretch and search for life-giving light—
We stand in thanks for shade of the trees.
