Daily Note

Every day, a photograph, a poem. I always love when, even in January and February, as the snow melts, the green appears to let us know spring is coming.

Today is my little brother’s birthday. He passed away in 2019. He was amazed by this view, and would have been especially in winter since in North Dakota where we grew up, we would never see green in the winter months.

Now, due to climate change– even that state may not have snow.

But today— that cold weather system is moving across the states and there will be snow in North Dakota as the weather system drops temperatures into wind chill alerts and coming snow, according to the National Weather Service for Bismarck, ND

Still, in our corner of the world, the wind blows, the temperatures drop, but still no more snow so far.

And so, a poem:

Birds Eye View

Clouds above
Clouds below
On the hillsides
White of snow.

Swirling river
Sky of blue
Green is sprouting
Spring’s here soon.
