Daily Note
Every day, a photograph, a poem. In June of last year, we ventured up a road north of Crown Point to discover beautiful meadows, herds of deer, and scenic views on a pleasant drive on a sunny afternoon. Hopping in the car to find a bit of nature, be it a park or country road is a way to rejuvenate the spirit.
This field of irises was a delightful discovery in a small wetland reserve that the state manages to preserve the local flora and fauna. Foster Creek Conservation District was founded in 1942 and has expanded it’s conserved area, and has planted native plants to maintain their viability in a changing climate. If you live in our area, you may want to subscribe to their newsletter.
And so, a poem.
Meadows of Summer
I close my eyes and remember
Sheri Edwards
the meadows of summer days
blossoms of nature delight us
with the beauty in nature’s ways.
