View from downtown Spokane, WA north to Mount Spokane over the Spokane River
Daily Note
Every day, a photograph, a poem. We’ve returned from our adventure in Spokane, staying at The Grand, across from the Spokane Opera House [as it was called when I lived there]. Our view from the tenth floor was spectacular– the peaceful Spokane River , the trees and Riverfront Park, and, on the sunny days, the view of Mount Spokane [Mount Spokane State Park]. It was a peaceful visit with family, although Scott was also busy covering the basketball tournament where our team placed sixth. Spokane is a busy city with a history that begins with people of the Spokane.
The weather varied from gloomy to sunny, typical of Spokane in the spring– but always warmer than North Dakota!
And so a poem…
In the Distance
A downtown city scene
Sheri Edwards
with river flowing, so serene
and in the distance a place for dreams
mountain, snow-capped, sunshine gleams.
