Daily Note
Every day, a photograph, a poem. In our lawn we have wood sorrel, mint, clover, dandelions, johnny jump ups, and violas. Violas are a native flower that is great to plant in your yard. I love the look of the little flowers blooming, and that easily return after being mowed. Perfect lawns are not my favorite. The photo above is actually in a neighbor’s yard on my walk today. Though the humble viola blooms in our yard, I had to stop and snap this picture because—- look, how lovely it is to see this little flower within the lawn. Isn’t it joyful?
And so, a poem.

See how special when one grows:
Like this viola opening to the sky:
A gift, a joy, for those passing by.
