Daily Note

Every day, a photograph, a poem. We took a different path at Steamboat Rock State Park for our walk. We walked along the beach by the campground following the campground paths that meander around back to the park and the parking lot. On the way we found blossoming lupine, lovely purple wildflowers of the west. There are many species, mostly in the western hemisphere, but also around the Mediterranean [Wikipedia]. And as we walked along the path with the blooms mostly gone, the lovely leaves, eight in a ring forming a star, provided a showing addition to our walk.

And so, a poem…

All in a Ring

Wildflowers of purple lupine
Spike above thin, pointed leaves—
each set of eight,
all in a ring,
like a star,
the star
they are
