Today’s Prompt Ocean Wonders July 3-4
Hashtags: #earthlyelementsweek #earthlyelementsweek2023
My submissions: Two ocean wonders: [on Flickr]
- Octopus and seahorse in a whimsical pattern on a blue textured background
- Ocean wonders at the seashore: hermit crab, starfish, shells, snail as the waves roll in.
- Background Pattern of the rolling ocean waves
I struggled with the starfish art— making the pattern. I kept taking things out because it was too busy. Then I changed colors. This final version is the seventh try, and I’m still not happy with it — not the characters or colors. I do love the background pattern and will upload that to a POD site too.
I do like the octopus and seahorse pattern— although this also took many attempts until I finally found a pattern and characters I liked. I remembered the idea of the “big head” for making creatures cute. That helped.
Tomorrow is Forest Life, and I’ve already finished that one— wildflowers in a diamond base pattern. I did that one first. So, see you tomorrow, and hope to see you in the challenge.
Check out Jennifer Nichols’ bio for her linktree — she’s offering a special price on her wonderful and supportive Creative Journey artist community, to which I joined a year ago and love the people, the classes, and the support. Take a look!
