Daily Note

Every day, a photograph, a poem. Today on Twitter, a friend posted a request for items for a new art project pertaining to Pebbles. Simon Ensor is an artist already presenting at another venue: Racines.

His current project, Pebbles, can be seen here. As you can see, his projects are both visual and interactive— a way to connect with others and enjoy the feeling of creating something together.

I knew I have a lot of rock images, but would I have one that would work as pebbles? In searching my Flickr account, I found the image above without the poem, which I could submit to the Padlet and respond to his tweet.

For the Padlet I added:

Pebbles

While enjoying a walk on the beach, I wrote this for others to do the same.

Sometimes a walk on the beach is joyful, as this one was with grandchildren.

Sometimes it’s a moment of solace in times of trouble. We go to the beach, in part, for its calming and grounding— to reset our joy in world so often in chaos.

Smile, and find a quiet place in nature to walk— for your soul.

The beach photo is from a walk with grandkids along the lake/river/reservoir called Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area., behind Grand Coulee Dam. It was an enjoyable walk, sloshing through the water, warming up in the warm sand, and enjoying the lovely day.

And so a poem… for soothing of the soul by nature.

Enjoy
Sloshing through the cold waves,
stepping out for the warmth of the sand
slipping up around your bare feet,
brushing back your hair twisting from the gentle breeze,
gently floating away with the fluff of clouds above—
Enjoy
