Daily Note

Every day, a photograph, a poem. I should have taken a landscape photo too- so you could see the blooming shrub-steppe as far as the eye can see. The yellow of two types of rabbitbrush make the park glow! It is food for many critters, including mule deer and rabbits. One species is the source of a type of latex for those allergic to the other latex.

Poetry

Gray Rabbitbrush

From the ground
the gray
reaches up with
wooly gray fur on
narrow leaves
and stems
but the tops
oh the tops
shine
in neon yellow
clusters
stretching
as far as
the eye can see
in autumn.
