Daily Note

Every day, a photograph, a poem. Another wildflower on our daily walk at Crescent Bay on Lake Roosevelt is the snow buckwheat— a small clump of beautiful blossoms that the mule deer are supposed to love, although they prefer my garden. And so, a poem.

Poetry

Snow Buckwheat

Instead of my
supposedly
deer-resistant
flowers and shrubs,
I guess I need to plant
Snow Buckwheat,
a mule deer treat
that is gorgeous
profusion of
delicate blossoms
atop its tiny round mat.
