Poplar trees along Banks Lake in autumn

Daily Note

Every day, a photograph, a poem. On our walk at Steamboat Rock State Park on Banks Lake earlier this month, we passed this lovely poplar, turning golden against the coulee walls. We had to stop to enjoy the shimmering yellow of its golden hues.

And so, a poem today…

Poetry

Sun’s Autumn Shimmer

I ease the light so
leaves of green hail golden hues
to shimmer instead.
